It’s almost time for a popular Brisbane cultural celebration to return to the southwest suburbs, as the Vietnamese Lunar New Year Festival is ready to come back to Richlands.
The event, which is part of the BrisAsia Festival, is expected to attract hundreds of locals and visitors who are keen to celebrate with a mix of food, music and traditional performances.
As Richlands is known as having a strong Vietnamese community, the festival has become a staple and a highlight of the year for residents. As part of the celebration, the event is expected to feature lion dances, costume parades, traditional games, fireworks and Vietnamese food stalls. Additionally, as the event is suitable for all ages, it will also include a fun-ride area for children.
The festival is organised annually by the Queensland chapter of the Vietnamese Community in Australia, and in celebrating the culture it also helps to strengthen community connections. By bringing a piece of Vietnam to Richlands, it provides residents from all backgrounds an opportunity to experience Tết customs firsthand, and can also attract non-locals to experience the event.
Outdoor occasions like this one can benefit from banner printing to help create a more festive atmosphere, raising awareness to those passing by in the process.
The Vietnamese Lunar New Year festival will be happening Saturday, February 14 from 5.30 pm to 9.30pm, and will be held at the C.J. Greenfield Complex Park in Richlands.
