Aussie bands and rugby to create a memorable weekend
To complement four days of rugby league action in the Magic Round of the NRL, Suncorp Stadium will also be hosting live music performances by Australian rock legends collective ARC and popular local band Sheppard.
ARC (Antipodean Rock Collective) is made up of musicians from several well-known Australian bands, such as Spiderbait, Powderfinger, Jet, You am I, and The Wrights. They came together to play in Brazil at the FIFA World Cup in 2014. They play lots of classic Australian rock.
Sheppard is an indie pop band, consisting of three Sheppard siblings, Amy, Emma and George, plus Jason Bovino, Michael Butler and Dean Gordon. The group’s second single, Geronimo, made it to number one in the ARIA singles charts for three weeks in 2014. They have played at festivals throughout Europe and the USA.
The Magic Round is an intense weekend of rugby with eight matches in four days, featuring all 16 teams in the league. All the matches will be played at Suncorp stadium in Milton, Brisbane, so fans can see all their favourites, and not-so-favourites, in action without the need for extra travel.
Both rugby and music fans may be keen to purchase promotional products to remember such a great weekend.
ARC will be performing on Thursday 9th May and Sheppard will perform on Friday 10th May. Tickets can be purchased online.
