Keen artists from Bellevue can get tips from an expert next month, with a visit from illustrator Craig Smith.
Smith is a well-known artist and has illustrated many popular children’s Books, including Stuck in the Muck and Billy the Punk. He has drawn pictures for more than 350 Books and has been chosen to illustrate the works of several Australian writers, such as Libby Gleeson.
He studied graphic design at the South Australian School of Art and has worked as a freelance illustrator since the late 1970s, and worked on murals, Posters and in advertising before specialising in Books.
During the workshop, Smith will discuss the influences on his work and what he enjoys most about illustrating, as well as sharing some examples of his creations.
There will also be pencils and paper available for anyone who would like to try their hand at drawing under Smith’s watchful eye, and pick up some tips from the professional. Keen illustrators could create their own book by using a Print company to create a collection of their drawings.
The workshop will take place on Saturday, June 7th between 10am and 11am at Midland Library. The event is open to people of all ages, and entry is free. Bookings must be made in advance, and can be made via Swan City Council’s website or by contacting the library.Get a Free Quote for Print Get a Free Quote for Posters Get a Free Quote for Books
