UK rock band to light up The Tivoli

Fans of British rock and metal in the Fortitude Valley area may be keen to sign up for a night with The Darkness when they play at the Tivoli in October.

Fresh from a round of UK festival appearances, The Darkness will be bringing their trademark lively, tongue-in-cheek rock performances to brighten up Queensland. Frontman Justin Hawkins, together with brother Dan, drummer Rufus Taylor and bass guitarist Frankie Poullain, will no doubt deliver a high-energy evening. Among the popular hits likely to be played are ‘Love is Only a Feeling’, ‘One Way Ticket’ and the smash hit ‘I Believe in a Thing Called Love’, which in 2020 held the number one spot on Classic Rock magazine’s Greatest Songs of the Century (so far) list.

As teenagers, the Hawkins brothers were in a band, playing mainly cover versions. When The Darkness was initially formed in the early 2000s, it was seen as something of a joke band by critics. However, the band has managed to win several music awards, such as Kerrang!! Best Album for ‘Permission to Land’ in 2003 and Kerrang!! Best British band in 2004.

Suitably flamboyant Promotional Products will no doubt be available for eager fans to purchase at the venue.

The Darkness concert takes place at The Tivoli, 52 Costin Street, Brisbane on Wednesday, October 19 from 19:30 until 23:30. Tickets cost $79.90 each.
