Fans of British cultural icon Olly Alexander in the Fortitude valley area will be keen to buy tickets to see the band Years & Years next month.
Olly Alexander, the lead singer of Years & Years, has had an exciting few years under his belt with successful albums, Brit nominations and international tours. He also starred in a much-lauded BBC series It’s a Sin, which garnered eleven nominations at this year’s British Academy Television Awards.
Beginning in 2010, Years & Years’ music is a mixture of R&B and electropop. The band’s debut album ‘Communion’ reached number one on the UK Albums Chart in 2015. Several albums and successful singles later, the latest studio offering is ‘Night Call’ which was released this year. Collaborations with artists such as Kylie Minogue and the Pet Shop Boys have led to further success for Olly Alexander, who now runs Years & Years as a solo project after splitting with existing band members in 2021. Influences also include Radiohead, Britney Spears, Joni Mitchell, Scritti Politti and the Beatles.
