New guide to promote the City of Swan

Venues from Bellevue and across the City of Swan will be featured in a new publication from the council to publicise the area to businesses.

The City of Swan council has used printing services to create the glossy Conference and Event Planners Guide, in a bid to promote the area as a location for business events as well as tourism.

City of Swan Mayor Charlie Zannino said business tourism had the potential to bring several million more dollars to the local economy each year than it currently did, and bringing more business events to the area would boost the weekday economy. He said:

“We know the Swan Valley is a popular weekend destination with 2.1 million day-trippers visiting the Valley each year. However, the majority of these visitors are on weekends and we see that an increase in business tourism will be a great complement to the thriving industry already in the Valley.”

The booklet features venues from across the region, including historic buildings and facilities that are more modern. Each venue has details of things such as seating capacity and facilities. The guide also features local options such as golf courses, horse riding stables and wine tastings that could be used by businesses for team building events or as a reward for staff.

The guide will be available from the Swan Valley Visitor Centre later next month. For more information, contact the council.
