The Tivoli is the landing place for folks in and around Fortitude Valley when one very special member of The Police shares an intimate evening with fans. Poster printing, undertaken locally, is often the way that fans are alerted to events of interest.
The Police was a UK rock band, formed in the late 1970s. After some tweaks, the final line-up ended up being Sting (lead vocalist, bass guitar), Andy Summers (guitar) and Stewart Copeland (drums and percussion). The band had a great deal of success, and disbanded in 1986, where the members followed solo projects. They reunited for a final tour from early 2007 to August 2008.
The evening at The Tivoli with Andy Summers will involve him playing guitar, including Police classics, such as Every Little Thing She Does is Magic and Don’t Stand so Close to Me. He is also known for his assured photography and skilful writing, so this is also a chance for him to showcase these skills. It promises to be an event that is intimate and enlightening and will be a really special treat for The Police fans.
An Evening with Andy Summers is taking place at The Tivoli, 52 Costin Street, Fortitude Valley, QLD 4006 on Wednesday 25th September. Tickets cost from $99, with doors opening at 6pm.
