Mellow tribute to famous 60s singing duo

Locals of Fortitude Valley will get the chance to experience an internationally acclaimed tribute to one of contemporary music’s best-loved duos this month.

School friends Dan Haynes and Pete Richards, also known as Bookends, will be showcasing their vocal range and exquisite harmonies when they perform in Simon & Garfunkel Through the Years at The Tivoli.

Attracting much attention, the band has been described by Stuart Cameron as:

“One of the greatest tribute shows anywhere in the world.”

Paul Simon (singer-songwriter) and Art Garfunkel (singer) met at school in New York in the 1950s, where they began writing songs and learning the craft of harmonising. Although artistic differences contributed to their breakup in 1970, their recently released album at that time, Bridge Over Troubled Water, became an international success. Since then, there have been reunion concerts, and their 1981 concert in Central Park had one of the largest audiences in history, attracting more than half a million fans.

The audience for the tribute evening are likely to hear The Boxer, Mrs Robinson, The Sound of Silence and the much-revered Bridge Over Troubled Water. Promoters of prestigious events such as this will often use local printing services to generate Posters, Banners and merchandise to capture as wide an audience as possible.

The Simon & Garfunkel Tribute will take place on 23rd June at 7pm at The Tivoli, 52 Costin Street in Fortitude Valley.
