Mad for it in Fortitude Valley

Fans of the UK’s ‘Madchester’ sound in the Fortitude Valley area will now be able to watch The Happy Mondays play live in October as part of their nationwide tour.

The ‘Madchester’ sound originated with the Manchester band in the 1980s. The unique sound of the Salford band and its charismatic lead singer, Shaun Ryder, unified to create one of the most successful bands around. With an indie spirit and acid house undertones, the band is a firm favourite with fans, deftly capturing the tone of ‘80s and ‘90s Britain.

As part of the Australian tour, the playlist is likely to include ‘Kinky Afro’ and ‘Loose Fit’. Ryder has been quoted as saying:
“We’re thrilled to be heading back to Australia and New Zealand. The fans there have always shown us so much love and we can’t wait to give them a show they’ll never forget.”

Promotional Products will be on hand at the venues, so that fans may purchase a souvenir of the evening.
