Jimmy Eat World to bring tour to Fortitude Valley

Fortitude Valley is known as a hub of Brisbane nightlife and American rock band, Jimmy Eat World will be bringing their tour to the area in March.

The group’s performance at the Tivoli Theatre is part of their current world tour showcasing songs from their newest album, Surviving.

Jimmy Eat World was first formed in 1993 as an emo pop band. After releasing a few singles and a couple of albums by 1995, the band increased their popularity. They began playing to a wider audience by playing more of an alternative rock style.

The band’s name was derived from a drawing by guitarist, Tom Linton’s younger brother, Ed. He drew a picture in crayon to get revenge on his brother. It depicted his brother, Jim, eating the world, and Ed wrote on the picture, ‘Jimmy Eat World'.

Surviving is the band’s tenth album, and has been described as personal and ambitious. The Jimmy Eat World will also be performing in Fremantle in Western Australia and Ascot Vale in Victoria. They will also be visiting the Philippines and Singapore.

Music concerts such as this are often promoted through banner and poster printing for local display leading up to the date of a performance.

Jimmy Eat World will be performing at the Tivoli Theatre in Fortitude Valley on the 19th March at 7pm.
