All entrepreneurs need a little inspiration now and then, and business owners in Bellevue will find plenty at the next Swan Women in Business networking lunch later this month.
The speaker at the event will be Dr Ros Worthington, one of Western Australia’s foremost philanthropists and female business leaders.
Dr Worthington began her charity work more than 30 years ago, when she set up the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Western Australia to help terminally ill children. After battling with chronic breast disease, Dr Worthington set up Breast Cancer Care WA, which supports women suffering from the disease, as well as helping their families. It is one of the most successful charities in the state.
She has also established the Love Angel Foundation, which raises money for children in third world countries, and the HelpME campaign, which seeks to educate people about depression and suicide.
Dr Worthington has been awarded an Order of Australia medal for her work and has been named in many lists of influential people in Western Australia and nationally.
During the lunch, she will share some of the background to her work and how she strives to be successful.
With many like-minded people in the same room, the event should be a good networking opportunity so attendees should think about making a fresh business card printing order in advance.
The lunch takes place on Friday November 22, although the venue is yet to be confirmed. For full details and to book a place, visit the Swan Chamber of Commerce website.
