Guitar wizard to delight Fortitude Valley

Those music lovers local to Fortitude Valley will likely be keen to attend an evening of music by Plini to celebrate the release of his latest album, Impulse Voices, which is taking place at The Zoo later in the month.

Impulse Voices was produced by Plini in his personal studio, with remote contributions from other band members due to COVID restrictions. When Plini began his career around 2011, he initially performed under the name Halcyon. He cites guitar legend Joe Satriani as having a major influence on his work.

Plini’s first album, Handmade Cities, which was released in 2016, drew favourable comments from the American singer-songwriter Steve Vai, who said that Plini was:

“The future of exceptional guitar playing.”

Vai added that Plini’s album was:

“One of the finest, forward-thinking, melodic, rhythmically and harmonically deep instrumental guitar records [he has] ever heard.”

Albums like Plini’s have eye-catching artwork. Local Print shops are often called upon to produce the artwork for the Posters and Banners advertising concerts such as this.

Plini and his band members Jake Howsam Lowe, Chris Allison and Simon Grove will be performing on 15th May at The Zoo, 711 Ann Street, Fortitude Valley from 6.30 pm until 7.30 pm. Tickets cost $45.40. Plini will be supported by Stephen Taranto. There will be a question-and-answer session before the gig.
