The 36th annual Fremantle Arts Centre Awards will be announced on September 23 at 6:30 pm; an exhibition will then follow at the Centre from September 24 until November 20. This award is seen as one of the country’s most prestigious awards; entries are accepted from all over the country in any Print medium. Entries range from Print series to artists’ Books, and are expected to “challenge the norms of Print making and display innovation, technical excellence and rigorous conceptual investigation". The Fremantle Arts Centre Award and exhibition draws thousands of visitors yearly and highlights the diversity of Print media that is utilized in contemporary art and illustration. There are four cash prizes awarded; $12000, $6000, $5,000 and a $300 People’s Choice award. Among those finalists that have already been chosen are artists Dean Brown, Lawrence Finn, Fiona Hall, Kate Hughes, Rebecca Mayo, Ryal Presley, Matthew West Tjupurula and Judy Watson.
