The songbook of Stevie Wonder is renowned throughout the popular music world, and when a tribute band turns up in Fortitude Valley this September, there’s bound to be a lot of interest from the local community.
Stevie Wonder is a name synonymous with instantly recognisable popular music from the previous decades. Born in 1950, as a singer-songwriter and record producer, Wonder has influenced many other musicians with music that touches on soul, R&B, gospel, jazz and funk. He is one of the best-selling artists of all time and has collaborated with many other artists of note, including Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney. He has won many awards, including 25 Grammys, and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as well as the Rhythm and Blues Music Hall of Fame.
At the tribute evening, an incredible group of skilled musicians will play such classics as “Isn’t She Lovely”, “Superstition”, and “Sir Duke”. A rhythm section, percussion and superb backing vocalists will ensure that the audience reaches higher ground and will be dancing and singing in the aisles. Musical events are often advertised locally by the means of poster printing.
The Stevie Wonder Story show takes place on Saturday, September 23 at 7pm. The venue is the Fortitude Music Hall, 312-318 Brunswick Street. Tickets for the event cost from $80.38.
