Residents of Fortitude Valley will have a four-week window in which to see the Broadway hit “Shrek the Musical” when it comes to Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) during the school holidays.
The musical boasts an all-star cast, and it will be showing at the QPAC’s Lyric Theatre. Suitable for children aged five and up, the show will be a highlight of the holiday for many children.
Shrek the Musical is based on the acclaimed movie “Shrek”, and the musical features 19 songs, wonderful dancing, great stage scenery and lots of belly laughs from the audience and characters alike.
The story follows the unlikely hero Shrek and his trusty steed Donkey on their quest to free the lovely Princess Fiona from captivity in her tower. The heroes must deal with a smitten dragon, a gang of misfits from well-loved fairy tales and the hilarious Lord Farquaad, and the resulting story is a hilarious mixture of adventure, drama and romance.
Musical productions like this will often use poster printing services to advertise their event in the theatre and around the community during the lead-up to the show to generate interest.
The Shrek the Musical season is strictly limited and will run from Saturday, January 9 until Sunday, February 7. For more information and to book, see the QPAC website.
