Fortitude Valley locals to celebrate cultural contributions

Residents of Fortitude Valley are invited to come out and celebrate the cultural contributions of their heritage and that of their neighbours for the 2021 MOSAIC Multicultural Festival.

Celebrating the rich and diverse cultural makeup of the local community, the day’s event allows locals to share their cultures and stories and learn more about what makes their community special.

Organised by Multicultural Australia, a local Queensland organisation that began in a suburban backyard and grew over 20 years to become one of the state’s most respected multicultural agencies, the MOSAIC festival attracted over 10,000 attendees from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds in 2019. Community festivals and events such as this can benefit from poster printing to advertise to the local community.

A family-friendly event, the day’s festivities seek to unite the community through music, dance, arts and crafts, and storytelling, as well as through a range of traditional foods and cooking demonstrations. Opening with a Welcome to Country performance by the traditional owners of the land, the programme also features world music and dance by leading performers, international drumming workshops, kid-friendly games and activities, and a cultural marketplace.

The 2021 MOSAIC Multicultural Festival is a free community event that is scheduled to run on October 10th from 10am to 5pm at the Roma Street Parklands. More information is available from the Multicultural Australia website.
