A pinball machine competition will be held in Fortitude Valley next month.
Flip Frenzy is hosted and organised by Netherworld, a bar, diner and museum-style arcade of vintage pinball machines, games and consoles. High scores for each game are listed with the player’s username on its website.
This local pinball competition is endorsed by the IFPA (International Flipper Pinball Association). It governs pinball events in order for this challenging style of gaming to be recognised as a competitive sport, both nationally and internationally. Its mission is to grow awareness of pinball machine playing and its competitions. Events like this can be promoted through flyer printing campaigns.
Competitors will play opponents on a large selection of pinball machines. All skill levels are accepted to compete and games will be in quick succession. The competitor with the most wins will receive a trophy at the end of the competition. All competitors will be given a worldwide pinball ranking.
The Flip Frenzy competition starts at 9am on Saturday 4th April, but doors are open from 8am and the competition rules will be explained at 8:30am. It will be hosted at Netherworld, located at 186 Brunswick Street in Fortitude Valley. There is a $20 entry fee, which includes every player’s first drink.
At the time of writing, this event was still taking place. Please check with organisers.
