Film frenzy to be held in Swan

Movie lovers from Bellevue have the chance to enjoy some classics under the stars starting from next month.

After the success of local events such as Midlandia and the Tropfest short film festival, the City of Swan council has decided to launch a series of outdoor movie screenings in Midland. This is the first time the event has been held in the area, and will be run in conjunction with Ace Cinemas.

The movies will be shown on Friday and Saturday nights over four weeks. A range of films will be on offer, including cult titles such as the Rocky Horror Picture Show and new offerings including the award-winning Birdman. Families can also get involved with a special sing-along showing of the Disney smash hit Frozen.

Visitors can look out for poster printing advertising the event and the exact date and time of each movie.

Food and drink will be available to purchase, but guests can take their own picnics if they prefer. Moviegoers are being asked to bring blankets to sit on, to ensure everyone gets a good view.

The cinema will be held at the corner of Cale Street and The Crescent where the Tropfest event took place earlier this year, and the screenings start on Friday, March 6th. For more information, visit the City of Swan council website.
