Fortitude Valley will host a fantastic free event in October with The Hidden Lanes Festival – a family-friendly day celebrating music, entertainment, food and art.
Dozens of local and interstate artists will play during the day, with nine stages spread throughout the lanes. Artists include Greta Stanley, Bonsai, Don't Trip On The Wire, Georgia Dutton, Krave, Ella Fence, First Beige, Mitch Salisbury, Pacific Avenue and Selfish Sons, and over a dozen DJs will also play sets.
Masterclasses on topics including cocktail making, dumpling making, cookie decorating and even how to choose a bridal gown will feature in the festival, alongside plenty of live demonstrations.
A series of trails – including an art and design trail, a heritage trail, a fashion and beauty trail, a market trail and a food and wine trail – will give festival attendees an opportunity to learn something new.
The art trail tours the vibrant artworks and murals of Fortitude Valley, and visits more than 20 street art pieces. Maps are available at the festival to assist with navigation and guided tours are available for those wishing to learn more about the artists and artworks.
Festivals will often use printing services, such as poster printing, in the lead-up to the event to enable a larger audience to be reached.
The Hidden Lanes Festival begins at 10am on Saturday, October 26 and runs until late. For more information or to book a masterclass or guided art trail, see the festival website.
