A community centre in Prestons will host a special celebration in honour of the winter solstice later this year.
People in Prestons looking for free family fun this winter can participate in an event presented by Darebin Libraries. Included in the library group’s collection called “Fun for Kids”, the “Family Winter Solstice Lantern Walk” is an experience that combines crafting and community connections with gentle exercise.
Libraries and other community hubs hosting events and activities often employ expert brochure printing services to create informative Booklets that list learning, social and arts and crafts experiences.
The event begins at Preston Library where family members can get together with others in the area to make lanterns especially for the winter solstice. Event attendees will then take a brief walk beyond the library with the newly made lanterns lighting the way. After the winter stroll, all taking part can return to the warm library to enjoy a hot chocolate.
The Family Winter Solstice Lantern Walk, and crafting session will now be held at Preston Library on Thursday, June. The event will start at 6 pm and runs until 7.30 pm. The library can be located easily on 266 Gower Street in Preston and is suitable for families who have children under the age of 12.
The library asks families to book a spot for each member of the family planning to attend.
