Tree planting day to descend on Prestons area

Locals in Prestons and surrounding suburbs are preparing for Creating Canopies, a tree planting day coming to the area this month.

Organised by Greater Sydney Landcare, this interactive event will allow attendees to contribute to creating a home for wildlife and birds and making a real difference to the local ecosystems.

The event Forms part of the wider Creating Canopies project. This project has seen a collaboration between Greater Sydney Landcare and Landcare NSW in planting 300,000 native trees between 2020-2025.

Attendees can network with other community members. They'll also have the opportunity to join a growing group of locals passionate about environmental health and sustainability in Sydney.

New tree planters and experienced bush carers are all welcome, with no experience needed to take part.

Organisers of community events can use printing services to create attractive, compelling advertising that engages the local community and draws interest.

The Creating Canopies tree planting day will be held on Saturday, 26 July at 95 Rosedale Cct, Carnes Hill. It will start at 9AM and finish at 2PM. Attendees can park on nearby streets, and at Shoeffel Park and Carnes Hill Shopping Centre. Carpooling, walking and public transport are encouraged. All tools, gloves and training will be provided, as will a free lunch. Spaces are limited, so bookings are essential. To register, those wishing to attend can visit the Humanitix website.
