Prestons to present teacher training

A learning programme designed to assist teachers will be running in Prestons this Autumn.

Education professional from in and around Prestons will be able to enrol in a new course called “Designing Year 11 HMS unit plans”. Presented by ACHPER NSW the Stage 6 HMS learning programme is specifically mapped out to aid teachers in the region.

Organisations and industry bodies operating courses and classes sometimes work with dedicated brochure printing services to create detailed Booklets and prospectuses for potential candidates.

The practical workshop session includes how to critique your sample unit plans, understanding syllabus outcomes through backward design processes and defining learning goals. It also covers identifying proof of learning, using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to create activities, learning, and teaching activity considerations and modelling processes designed to put skill development into both learning and teaching sequences.

Course participants will also find out how to design learning sequences based on existing programme resources. It has been co-designed by Kyle Sutton, Head Teacher at the Merewether High School and Lisa Bauer, Head Teacher at the James Ruse Agricultural High School among other teaching professionals.

The Designing Year 11 HMS unit plans course will take place on May 9 at the Liverpool Catholic Club. The club can be found at 424 - 458 Hoxton Park Road in Prestons and the course will start at 8.30 am and ends at 3.30 pm. The price of admission is $376.00 per person.
