State-of-the-art equine centre receives go-ahead

The City of Liverpool, New South Wales is set to welcome a modern $100m equine centre, which is expected to be operational by 2018.

Construction of the prestigious equine complex follows approval by the NSW Joint Regional Planning Panel for William Inglis and Son to move its huge thoroughbred auctioneering empire to a new base in Warwick Farm.

The establishment of the centre was enthusiastically supported my Mayor of Liverpool Ned Mannoun, who described Warwick Farm as an ideal location for Inglis to accommodate some of the world’s best horse trainers, breeders, owners and buyers.

He added the move, which will see the operation’s size double, would also strengthen the company’s reputation as Australia’s leader in its field.

The Mayor was also excited about what the venture would mean for the area and predicted the local economy could benefit by an estimated $100m.

He said additional employment opportunities will be created in many areas, including marketing services, hospitality, management, finance, entertainment and printing services.

Construction alone, he said, would generate in excess of 100 positions.

The new equine development will be home to hospitality rooms, parade areas and a multipurpose sales arena, while also providing stabling facilities for about 800 horses.

The site will also host a hotel with 145 rooms, plus hospitality facilities incorporating everything from restaurants and cafes, to a gym and wellness centre.
