The plan details proposed land use within the future education and economic hub, which is set to develop close to the new Western Sydney International Airport.
The WSAP, according to Mayor Wendy Waller, represents the vision of the state government for Aerotropolis and outlines principles, planning, land uses within each precinct, and infrastructure required to support the development.
The Mayor is urging community members to have a say on the plans. Often these types of displays include a graphic design for visual clarity. She said any concerns will be passed on to the state government prior to them finalising decisions about the planning of land use and zoning at the site. She added:
“This is a major step along the way towards a new airport that maximises the potential benefits for our community and people across Western Sydney.”
Mayor Waller stressed the importance of getting the initial framework right before Aerotropolis becomes a reality.
She said the development represents a major game-changer as far as South West Sydney and Liverpool residents are concerned and stands to create a sustainable and attractive lifestyle for workers and residents.
Six initial precincts are covered in the draft WSAP, which is on public display until February 28, including South Creek, Northern Gateway and Aerotropolis Core.
