Liverpool City to host The Voice TV series

Popular television series The Voice has found a new home in the City of Liverpool.

Filming of season nine of the show by production company ITV Studios Australia began in February and its arrival has sparked excitement among locals and Council members, according to Mayor Wendy Waller who added:

“Council is excited for The Voice S9 to make Liverpool its new home, setting a precedent for other large-scale television and film productions to come to our great city in the future.”

She said having the television show produced locally demonstrated Liverpool's ability to nurture and support the country's thriving entertainment, media, culture and arts industry. It also illustrated the diversity of the city's economy which has a $11.3 billion gross regional product across industries such as retail, manufacturing, public administration, education and healthcare.

ITV Studios Australia Managing Director and CEO David Mott said it was great to be able to find studio space in which to produce The Voice S9 in Liverpool, adding:

“The large warehouse in Moorebank presented a fantastic opportunity for us to purpose-build a working studio of such a scale unlike anything that already exists in Sydney.”

He said the new studio will allow them to showcase a fabulous new wave of vocalists. Printing services are often kept extremely busy to help promote major productions

This season, The Voice features judges Kelly Rowland, Guy Sebastian, Delta Goodrem and Boy George.
