The Liverpool Regional Museum is currently hosting the One Small Step exhibition as part of the worldwide interest in the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.
The exhibition features NASA footage of the moon landing and takes a look at the effect this ground-breaking event had on the popular culture of the time, particularly in the music scene.
The exhibition also focuses on the role that Australia played in the moon landing, with the first images of the event being transmitted from the satellite dishes at Parkes Observatory and Honeysuckle Creek tracking station near Canberra. The museum hosted an outdoor screening of the iconic Australian film The Dish, which tells a partly fictionalised account of the role of the Parkes observatory in the moon landing.
New Zealand Actor Roy Billing, who played Parkes mayor Robert McIntyre in the film, sent a message to viewers of the screening, hoping that they enjoy watching the film as much as he enjoyed making it.
With interest in the moon landing reignited thanks to a plethora of exhibitions and media coverage about the event’s 50th anniversary, many businesses are taking advantage of this opportunity to capture people’s attention. In one example, Volkswagen released a Print campaign linking the brand’s connection to the moon landing with its current focus on carbon neutral technologies.
Print shops are able to meet the demands for high quality and creative poster printing services that can be used at events and exhibitions.
The One Small Step exhibition will be running until 7th September.Get a Free Quote for Print
