Australia Day in Liverpool, New South Wales is set to be a dazzling affair, with everyone invited to a free outdoor entertainment spectacular in the heart of the city.
Liverpool City Council has already undertaken poster printing to promote the major event, which will feature legends of dance music Sneaky Sound System live on stage along with a huge line-up of support artists, including Bad Moon Born and Sexy Sunday Jam.
According to a Council spokesman, the event will also feature popular children’s entertainer Sam Moran, as well as a host of activities including carnival rides, live entertainment and a spectacular fireworks display.
He said the Australia Day theme will be promoted throughout the day with a selection of outback entertainment for patrons to enjoy, including Aussie backyard games, line dancing and whip cracking.
Television’s ‘Play Along with Sam’ host Sam Moran will perform for the younger members of the audience, while the extensive kids’ programme will also feature the Move & Groove Show, Ocean Adventure Kids Show, acrobats and magic shows.
The spokesman said the Australia Day celebration is the biggest on council’s annual events Calendars. He said it is hoped the event, to be held at Liverpool’s Woodward Park on January 26 from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm, will eclipse last year’s celebrations, which attracted in excess of 30,000 people. Entry is free.
