Nine years of planning has culminated with the opening of the $140m Riverside Stables complex at Warwick Farm, near Liverpool.
Covering 10 hectares, the development also includes the Riverside Stables and the equine-themed, 144-room William Inglis Hotel.
Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster said the complex is expected to buoy economic activity in Liverpool and surrounding areas and provide many benefits to local businesses.
He said tour groups staying at the hotel were already visiting local dining spots such as Gemelle in Liverpool and the Iron Chef in Cabramatta.
The decision to establish the complex at Warwick Farm and away from the company’s old Newmarket site, according to Mr Webster, was because he regarded Liverpool to be the “true centre of Sydney”.
The area, he added, also had major infrastructure close by and an established racing community.
The Inglis family’s racing history has extended to the luxury hotel, with each room featuring equine-themed furnishings and bearing the name of a champion racehorse that has been sold via the Inglis sales rings.
Director of Sales and Marketing Belinda Thomson said the complex will also be available to host a wide array of other activities, including weddings, which is likely to be a key feature on brochure printing advertising the venue.
Seminars, concerts and expos for up to 1,000 people can also be held in the venue’s sales arena.
