Grappling games headed for Liverpool

A leisure centre in Liverpool is set to hold a martial arts competition for grappling practitioners in the suburb and its surrounding area.

Grappling Industries Sydney will soon present a martial arts tournament in Liverpool. February will find grappling fighters facing off at the Whitlam Leisure Centre to showcase their skills and obtain awards. Event organisers running sports competitions sometimes look to full-service Print shops that can personalise trophies and awards for winners.

A sport gaining ground in Australia, grappling is a fighting technique that features trips, throws, sweeps, submission holds, ground fighting and clinch fighting. The Liverpool tournament favours a “Round Robin Pool” approach which means that all adults competing get four matches when they sign up for a division that has up to five competitors. As a result, fighters will get a chance to compete against a selection of different people to enhance their experience.

The Grappling Industries tournament will now be held at the Whitlam Leisure Centre on Monday, February 16. Doors will open at 7.30 am and the event will start at 9 am and the centre is situated at 90A Memorial Avenue in Liverpool.

The competition is strictly pre-registration only and no late registrations are accepted on the day of the event. While standard registration is available for $95, an early bird option for just $70 is offered to competitors who register no later than January 12.
