Textured-art class to serve creatives in Gladesville

The popular Pinto and Picasso art franchise is arriving in Gladesville with an interesting new concept in textured art.

Textured art involves adding a raised dimension to artwork, possibly by the use of thick, textured paint, and additionally by the inclusion of such materials as sand and straw. Sometimes, artists use moulded paper, wax and textured canvas to infer a 3D dimension to a canvas.

At the Pinot and Picasso workshop, there will be the opportunity to use thick acrylic paint on a 16” by 20” canvas to try and recreate an image of a rolling sea, capturing the essence of savage waves and ferocious spray.

All classes are overseen by an artist, to advise and make suggestions. The event is also BYOB, with participants being invited to bring along a bottle of wine and snacks. Some materials will be included, aside from the paint and canvas. There will be an easel, a protective apron and a drinking vessel for the wine or drink of choice. There is also the opportunity to purchase a grazing board to share.

Colourful flyer printing is likely to be one of the preferred means of advertising for a local art class like this one.

Textured Art: Seas The Day is taking place at the Gladesville Studio, 269 Victoria Road, Gladesville, NSW 2111 on Saturday 11th November. It runs from 7pm until 10pm, and a ticket will cost $79.
