Soulful crooners to ignite Sydney and surrounding areas
For the first time in 12 years, residents of Gladesville and other Sydney suburbs can be entranced by the Melbourne-origin band Crowded House.
The pop-rock legends will perform for two evenings on their much-acclaimed Dreamers are Waiting tour. Promoters of similar events often use poster printing to advertise prestigious events for maximum publicity in the community.
Crowded House was founded in 1985 by New Zealander Neil Finn, with Paul Hester and Nick Seymour hailing from Australia. Although the group has been through several line-ups during the decades, its signature melodies and heartfelt lyrics have proved a hit with fans worldwide, ensuring early commercial success for the band. With songs such as Don’t Dream it’s Over and Weather with You, the group has garnered critical acclaim, including several ARIA awards and a BRIT Award for International Group of the Year in 1994.
Today’s line-up consists of Neil Finn with sons Liam and Elroy, along with Matt Seymour and Mitchell Froom. Neil credits his older brother, Tim, a founder member of the band Split Enz, as a major influence on his musical journey, together with early encouragement from their mother to sing at family gatherings.
Crowded House play on April 12 and 13 at the Aware Super Theatre at 14 Darling Drive in Sydney. Prices for tickets start at $122.15. Supported will be provided by Middle Kids.
