Fans of the tunes and melodies of yesteryear may be keen to turn up at The Bayview Hotel in November to hear The Kites.
The original Kites band was formed around the year 1980 by Mark Kennedy, who had previously played with various other bands. The Kites became popular by playing covers of bands such as Toto, The Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan in local pubs and clubs. In 2013 after a ten-year break, the band reformed with all new members and were again popular, mixing trusted golden oldies with more contemporary music.
The current line-up includes vocalist Peter, Jack, Guy on bass, Dave and Paul, the drummer. All have had a solid musical background with other bands and experiences and bring their wealth of expertise to showcase The Kites and excite fans, both new and old. The music is recognisable and infectious so the audience will often show their appreciation and enjoyment by getting up and dancing with their friends. Songs that are often found on the playlist might be ‘I’ll be Around’, ‘Drive My Car’ and ‘Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes’.
The Bayview Hotel will most likely make use of local brochure printing to advertise The Kites evening to local residents.
The Kites are appearing at The Bayview Hotel, 166 Victoria Road, Gladesville on 13th November at 6pm.
