Networking event for creatives this June

Sponsored by the City of Ryde, the I HATE Networking event is being held for creatives to encourage them to get to know each other better in a fun environment.

Creatives that find networking a painful tactic can attend the I HATE Networking meetup to learn some networking tips, with the opportunity to put them into practice in an environment that is safe and friendly.

In the first half of the workshop, participants will learn how to network, with tips on mastering an introduction, overcoming shyness and awkwardness, dealing with difficult individuals and preparing for an event. In the second half of the session, participants will get an opportunity to practise what they have learnt.

The target audience for this workshop consists of recent graduates, freelancers, business or arts organisations, experienced practitioners and hobbyists. The workshop is for those that live, work or study in the City of Ryde, including Gladesville residents.

Participants will receive access to a Dropbox folder consisting of additional resources to assist with continual learning and free webinars to complement workshop material. Business card printing can assist participants in creating contacts at networking events like this.

The workshop will be facilitated by Monica Davidson, the Director of Creative Plus Business Group, who, along with working as a writer, filmmaker and occasional performer, dedicates her time to educating people within the creative industry on business and marketing skills.

The I HATE Networking workshop is free to attend and will be held on Wednesday, 23rd June from 6pm to 8pm at the Ryde-Eastwood Leagues Club.
