The Sydney Psychology Centre is hosting sessions to assist kids with building resilience and a growth mindset in May.
Parents can choose from two options. The first is for children in kindergarten and the second is aimed at primary school kids. The sessions will run over 10 Saturdays and each will build on what has been covered in the previous sessions, so it requires commitment from participants.
During the sessions, facilitators will utilise techniques and knowledge based on psychology principles, known therapeutic approaches, and mindfulness. These are intended to improve mental health in kids by assisting them in developing resilience and promoting a growth mindset. Typically, free community seminars and workshops such as this one are promoted via flyer printing.
Emma Spencer, the organiser of the Growth Mindset & Resilience Group for Kids, works for Child Development Solutions which is a paediatric clinic located in the lower North Shore of Sydney. It specialises in offering a multi-faceted approach in assisting kids, young adults, and parents with developmental needs using individual and group therapies.
Currently, the Sydney Psychology Centre is trying to gauge interest in the groups. Parents are encouraged to find out more by signing up for a one-hour free session on EventBrite. Those that sign-up to the event will be provided with more detail on a one-on-one basis by event organisers.
The event will be held on May 2nd from 10:30am to 11:30am at the Sydney Psychology Centre at 3A Pittwater Road in Gladesville. Tickets are only available until April 25th.
