Gladesville to host celebration of Sydney environment volunteers

A day celebrating environmental volunteers is to be held later this month in Gladesville.

Dubbed Groovin’ Grassroots day, the occasion is being held to reward those volunteers who have been involved in environmental activities from around the Greater Sydney region. The event will be hosted by Greater Sydney Landcare Network (GSLN).

Boasting a line-up of musical talent, there will be plenty of entertainment on hand with Latin American artists, folk music as well as modern and classical musicians, who will perform throughout the day.

The event will be held outdoors and visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic basket or hamper as well as their own fold up chairs or a picnic rug. Volunteers are requested to dress in their usual volunteering outfit, such as Bushcare or Landcare uniforms. Family and friends are also welcome to attend.

GSLN is a community organisation whose members actively support groups and individuals who work to preserve and protect the natural environment of Greater Sydney. GSLN promotes the values and principles of Bushcare and Landcare. They network widely and hold events throughout the year. Flyer printing or brochure printing can be a useful way to promote upcoming events.

The Groovin’ Grassroots event is free and will be held at the Bedlam Bay Oval, Gladesville Hospital on Saturday 25th May from 8:30am until 2pm.
