Gladesville’s local council, the City of Ryde, is funding a first aid course for new parents that will run every day until the end of November.
The Digital Baby First Aid programme is targeted towards both new and expecting parents. During the course, parents will learn important aspects of first aid for their newborn to determine whether their baby requires an ambulance, care at home or a doctor. Flyer printing is an excellent way to reach subsets of a population such as new and expecting parents for an event like this, with Flyers placed in hospitals, clinics and community centres.
The course is funded by the City of Ryde, with support from the Parentmedic Movement, which has the view that access to an education programme on newborn health is warranted for all parents as it will assist them in keeping their babies safe. The course will cover topics such as well-known children’s sicknesses, how to get help from General Practitioners through Medinet, how to submit questions and have them answered online and accessibility to the Parentmedic Triage Tool Symptom Checker.
In 2015, the Parentmedic Movement was founded in response to a demand from parents who did not have access to face-to-face education and those that wanted to complete a baby first aid refresher at flexible times and at home. Since then, Parentmedic has become the largest provider of first aid for babies and has more than 60 licensed providers.
The free digital course can be completed on any day until 31st of December via The Parentmedic Movement website.
