The plan to improve Gladesville Bridge Marina will soon move into the next phase.
Community feedback on the preliminary design closes on November 23. The preparation of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) will be the next stage.
The proposed improvements are intended to create a sustainable and contemporary marina that will meet the growing needs of Sydney’s boating community. The improved Marina will feature 114 boats on floating pontoons, 15 boats on swing moorings, an increased capacity totalling 129 boats and the realignment of the structure to maximise view corridors.
Two community information sessions were held in October. Another information session is planned to take place during the development of the EIS to provide feedback on how community input has been considered. Brochure printing and flyer printing services are sometimes used for the presentation of development plans.
The initial design plan took into consideration visual, noise, parking, amenity and navigational corridor concerns that were raised during consultation with the community.
Once the EIS has been completed, the project can move forward to the formal Development Application consultation process.
The Gladesville Bridge Marina has functioned as a boat repair, boat storage and boatshed for almost a century, and as a marina with associated boat building and repair services for over 50 years.
