Dog lovers served by canine community festival

Lovers of dogs in Gladesville may be keen to attend the Street Paws Festival at the Henley Green Community Garden next month.

Approximately four years ago, the Street Paws Festival was set up in New South Wales. The thinking behind the initiative was to provide an event to celebrate dogs and the community while at the same time fundraising to support the work that animal rescue services carry out. The first event was held in Marrickville in Sydney.

As part of the festival at the Henley Green Community Garden, there will be stalls with vets on hand to give advice, and there will likely be some rescue dogs that are available for adoption. There will also be various competition categories, such as Old Timer, Best Rescue and Cutest Pooch.

Promoters of community events will often publicise them in the neighbourhood using Posters and Banners created by local printing services. Stall holders may also distribute branded merchandise such as Pens to promote their business.

The Street Paws Festival will take place on 13th August from 10.30 am until 2.30 pm at Henley Green Community Garden, 2A Crown Street, Henley 2111. Visitors can register for free on the day. This event is rescheduled from 13th May and is sponsored by Bloomingtails Grooming. Dogs who attend are expected to be well-behaved and on a leash.
