Developers seek approval to add to Castle Hill high rises

Multistorey apartment buildings soaring up to 23 levels in Castle Hill, New South Wales are currently being considered by The Hills Council as part of a new development application.

The application by developers Toplace seeks approval for the construction of five residential towers to accommodate 920 apartments near Old Castle Hill Road and Pennant Street.

The height of the towers would range from 18 to 23 levels, according to the application, which would give the 23-storey structure the status of being The Hill’s tallest building.

Currently, according to a Council spokesman, currently 18 storeys is the maximum for high-density developments.

He said, however, the site developers maintained more open space would be generated in the proposed 23-story model.

The application was submitted following the $140m purchase of the site, which covers 1.4 hectares, in September 2015.

Potential future residents would not have to look far for Signs to the Castle Tower’s Shopping Centre, which is so close to the development site that the construction of a pedestrian bridge to connect the two sites has also been proposed.

A report accompanying the application to Hills Council stated that new residents would benefit from the sites close proximity to both a future train station planned for the Sydney Metro Northwest Line and Castle Towers.

The provision of 960 car parking spaces has also been included in the development application, which the report states will provide alternative housing choices close to amenities for future residents.
