Award-winning musical to come to Castle Hill

Locals in Castle Hill are invited to attend a musical coming to the suburb in October.

The Tony Award-winning City of Angels is a suave film noir musical, depicting the aura of the classic detective films of Hollywood and set to a blues-jazz musical score.

The play centres on 1940s detective fiction writer Stine, who attempts to adapt his crime novel into a screenplay while navigating the dog-eat-dog world of Hollywood.

Meanwhile, Stine’s protagonist, a private eye named Stine, fights to survive in a city of criminals.

The play unites witty dialogue with an arresting Cy Coleman score, embodying the style of a Raymond Chandler novel and the glitz and glamour of old-time Hollywood.

City of Angels is directed by Logan McArthur, with Aiden Smith providing musical direction and choreography by Lauren Oxenham. The musical will be performed by the Hornsby Musical Society.

Organisers of arts and culture events can use graphic design to accentuate their graphics. Bold, attractive and inviting graphics capture attention and encourage wider interest and attendance from the local community.

City of Angels will be performed from Friday, 17 October, 2025 to Sunday, 26 October, 2025. The venue will be Pioneer Theatre, Level 1/14 Pennant Street, Castle Hill, NSW 2154. Show times vary according to the dates. Tickets are priced at $45 for concessions, and adults can purchase tickets for $50. Bookings can be made through the Pioneer Theatre website.
