The Hills Shire Council’s annual literary festival is a celebration that sees some of the nation’s best known authors, children’s book writers and novelists visit Castle Hill, New South Wales.
The monthlong event will feature a Feast of Speakers. including workshops, masterclasses and Catalogues of activities to be enjoyed by all ages.
The Hills Shire Mayor Yvonne Keane said the large literary celebration will invigorate the community with new ideas, insightful literary crafts and discussions.
She said some of the country’s finest creative minds will join forces to celebrate the long-practiced art of storytelling, including Jacqueline Harvey, Dianne Blacklock and Ber Carroll.
The Mayor suggested attendees take along their note pads to jot down useful tips from their literary mentors at event highlights, such as Jacqueline Harvey’s ‘Writing for Children’ masterclass.
Andrew Robertson will also share a conversation with Aussie cricketer Brad Haddin about his book entitled My Family’s Keeper.
Keane said the event provides an opportunity to not only enjoy the many aspects of writing but also to educate ourselves and exchange creative ideas.
She said some of the nation’s best nonfiction and fiction writers will be in Castle Hill for what has become one of the biggest literary events in the district.
The literary festival, with events being held in libraries across The Hills Shire, will continue to delight creative minds until November 30.
