Work begins on Sea Eagles new centre

Brookvale Oval is set to become the home of a Centre of Excellence costing $33.1 million.

Work began recently on the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles’ major centre and northern grandstand, which Acting Sports Minister Geoff Lee believes will be envied by other clubs, while also generating 300 jobs and providing an important boost to the Northern Beaches construction industry. He added:

“It’s one of the most iconic grounds in rugby league and this project will ensure the Northern Beaches community continues to love coming to Brookie Oval.”

The construction schedule aims for completion to coincide with the kick off to the National Rugby League (NRL) season in 2022. The new centre's establishment will see young players of the future provided with some of the best facilities available, according to Manly Member James Griffin. He said it will also be a great facility for people passionate about the Sea Eagles and sport in general.

When complete, the Centre of Excellence will provide Manly Warringah men's NRL, and also future women's teams, with top administration, training and high performance facilities. The new grandstand will seat up to 3,000 people.

Fixtures at major venues such as this are often advertised via local flyer printing campaigns to attract high attendance.

The project will also boast new multipurpose and dedicated community facilities to permit the club to grow and expand its many community initiatives and programmes.
