Keen cyclists from Alexandria and around Sydney are being encouraged to spread the word about the benefits of cycling as part of the Sydney Rides Business Challenge, which starts next month.
The Challenge is designed to encourage people to cycle to work rather than driving, or even just to cycle somewhere for at least 10 minutes and record the journey on a special log.
Companies around Sydney are being encouraged to get as many employees as they can to sign up for the challenge, and the workplaces that get the most cyclists win prizes.
Businesses will be grouped according to size and compete against each other, so even small companies stand a chance of claiming awards.
Keen cyclists could use poster printing around their workplace to encourage others to join the cycling challenge.
People who encourage a large number of new riders also stand a chance to win prizes during the event.
Individuals can also enter, and people who have never ridden before can have a go at one of three ‘try a bike’ sessions to be held during the event.
A number of the city’s largest companies have already signed up for the challenge, including Qantas, Westpac and Sydney University.
The Sydney Rides Business Challenge runs from Monday, February 22 to Sunday, March 20. For more information, or to register, visit the challenge’s website.
