Music-lovers from Alexandria can enjoy a popular music event in their suburb this year with Sydney Park hosting the ‘Small World Festival’.
The Alexandria park was chosen because of its amphitheatre like surroundings, which organisers hope will provide a good acoustic experience as well as offering a scenic backdrop to the event.
This year the bill includes iconic Aussie rockers The Church, who will be playing songs from their 35-year career, thrash band DZ Deathrays, and a host of other Sydney based musicians including supergroup Jack Ladder and the Dreamlanders.
The festival will also feature one local artist chosen by leaders at VISIONS, which has been hosting gigs for emerging artists across Sydney during the past two years to help them raise their profiles. The chosen band will be announced in August and will get the chance to bring their music to a new audience by opening the festival.
Food will be provided by restaurants and cafes from around the city, including renowned Argentine restaurant Porteno
Organisers could use poster printing to advertise the line-up while food and beverage operators might like to use flyer printing to create small adverts that could be handed out to the crowd.
The Small World Festival will be held on Saturday September 19 and the gates open at midday. Tickets are on sale now through the festival website.
