Practical cooking lessons to take place in Alexandria

Food-loving children and their adults in and around Abbotsford might be interested in learning more about healthy eating at an upcoming event next month.

The six-week cooking program focuses on nutrition and health and every lesson has a practical element, lots of nutritional-based fun activities, and ends with a shared meal. It is run by OzHarvest, as part of their NEST program (nutrition, education skills training). OzHarvest is Australia's biggest food rescue organisation, saving surplus food to help those that need it most.

At the end of the course, participants will understand how to shop on a budget and understand the labels on food, whilst acquiring the skills to cook a tasty, healthy meal, whilst planning for minimal food waste. Additionally, there will be instruction on how to safely store food, both before and after preparation.

At the end of the course, all will receive a certificate and cookbook. Local printing services are frequently used to create certificates for programs like this.

Cooking and Nutrition classes are running In Alexandria in conjunction with OzHarvest. The six-week course takes place on a Friday, from 17th January until 21st February, from 10.30am until 1pm and is suitable for those who are eighteen or over. The venue is the Cliff Noble Community centre, corner of Renwick and Suttor Streets, Alexandria, NSW 2015.
