Pop culture fans from Alexandria should head over to the new Sydney Exhibition Centre next month as Comic Con comes to town.
The popular event features a number of well-known television and film actors from the sci-fi genre, comic book authors, and animators.
This year, one of the special guests will be Richard Dean Anderson, who will be signing autographs and speaking to fans. Anderson is best known for his role in hit ‘80s show MacGyver and has returned to television screens in recent years in the Stargate franchise.
Other guests include Tim Rose, best known for playing the commander of the Rebel Alliance forces in Star Wars sequel Return of the Jedi, and Australian comic book pioneer and editor of the country’s leading independent graphic novel publishers, Wolfgang Bylsma.
Fans can also get a photograph taken with many of the famous faces, with printing services being used to ensure the pictures are ready to collect before visitors leave the convention.
The event also features panel discussions on aspects of pop culture and the chance to take to the stage as a science fiction or comic book character as part of the cosplay parade.
Oz Comic Con takes place on Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27 at the Sydney Convention Centre at Glebe Island. Tickets can be booked in advance through the Comic Con website.
