Music video art form to be celebrated in Alexandria

Music videos came to the fore in the 1990s with the launch of MTV, and residents of Alexandria and beyond can now buy tickets for a unique event that pays homage to the music video in all its glory.

This form of media has, over the years, invoked innovation and nostalgia in equal measure. As fitting of such a visual medium, poster printing can be put to great use to advertise this highly image-driven event within the Alexandria area.

During the CLIPPED Music Video Festival, which first launched in 2016, film makers and artists are invited to showcase their work competitively as awards and prizes are at stake.

This, in turn, can also help makers get their videos out into the industry, which is a notoriously difficult thing to achieve. There will be exhibitions, video jocks, workshops and discussion panels in which to participate and learn from seasoned professionals.

The event has previously attracted directors, music industry experts and artists, and is well-regarded within the music video arena. THE CLIPPED event is pulled together by director and founder, Samuel Bright, who has a background in innovative film, sound and electronic art.

The CLIPPED Music Video Festival 2024 will take place on Saturday, 9 March, from 10am until 11.30pm, at SUNSTUDIOS, 42 Maddox Street, Alexandria, NSW. Tickets cost from $25.
