Fans of local, up-and-coming music artists in the Alexandria area may wish to come along to Yulli’s Brews at the end of March.
The regular Canned Heat event showcases various local musicians and allows them a platform to be seen and discovered by potential fans. At the end of March, the stage will be taken by Palto Guise, a local alternative rock band. Joining Palto Guise will be Amnesiac, an indie band inspired by such bands as The Strokes. Closer to home, Tame Impala is an Australian band that has also had a significant influence on the members of Amnesiac.
Palto Guise consists of five band members, all born and bred in Wollongong, NSW. Launching two singles, Figure It Out and Spangled, their sound has been described as classic rock imbued with a contemporary indie feel. The current line-up boasts Ben Murray (guitar and vocals), Haydin Kaynak (guitar), Zachary Nagel-Tynan (keyboard), Callum Scott (bass guitar) and Jack Ritchie (drums).
Often, the Logo Design for indie and alt-rock bands features heavily on Posters to advertise their gigs.
Canned Heat, featuring Palto Guise and Amnesiac, will take place on Friday, 31st March, from 8pm until 11pm. It will be held at Yulli’s Brews, which can be found at 75A Burrows Road, Alexandria. As with all Canned Heat events, entrance on 31st March is free.
