Alexandria will host an afternoon of food and refreshments to celebrate the running of the Melbourne Cup this November.
The event will include live streaming of the big race and other entertainment will be provided throughout the day.
Drinks will be served to guests on arrival and canapes will be offered throughout the afternoon. A wider selection of drinks will be available for purchase from onsite bars. Food will be served both prior to and after the race with an array of dishes including fresh seafood, grain fed beef and chicken.
The event will have a festive atmosphere with decorations and floral displays adorning the gardens. Guests are also encouraged to dress up for the day, with snappy dressers able to vie for the prize of best-dressed on the field.
The race marks the beginning of the Spring racing season and is Australia’s most famous horse race. First run in 1861, the winners of the Melbourne Cup received a single cash prize and a gold watch, with the first official trophy cup being awarded in 1865.
Tickets for the event cost $110 per person which includes a selection of food over four hours and a welcome drink served upon arrival. Events such as this often use poster printing as part of their advertising campaigns.
The event will be held at the Grounds Garden in Alexandria on Tuesday 5th November from 12 noon to 6pm and is an 18 years plus event.
