Judges, who included Sebastian Goldspink, Sam Ferris and Atong Atem, have selected 20 finalists from the many top images submitted by three to 12 year-old children from across the City of Sydney.
Submissions captured a range of fascinating images incorporating everything from toys and pets to family and nature to illustrate their ideas about what life is like in Sydney.
Each of the 20 finalist's entries are now on show at an outdoor exhibition at Hyde Park's Sandringham Gardens, with the display put together by photographer Sandy Edwards.
According to Clover Moore, Sydney's Lord Mayor, the works of local children have lit up Hyde Park each year for more than a decade and, he added:
“I have always loved the snaps captured by our city’s young photographers and the joy the exhibition brings to visitors as they pass through Hyde Park."
He said that seeing children use their creative abilities to illustrate their take on what it was like to live in Sydney was great to see.
Brochure printing campaigns have often helped to spread the word about annual events such as the photography competition.
Described as entertaining and vibrant by its curator, the outdoor exhibition will run until October 9th.
